Alicante
The port of Alicante is located on Spain's Costa Blanca and is a major port of call for cruise ships in the western Mediterranean. The city of Alicante combines historical sights with modern amenities and offers cruise guests a variety of experiences.
Cruise ships usually dock at the Muelle de Levante, which is located in the immediate vicinity of the city center. Passengers can easily reach the center on foot or use shuttle buses, which are often offered from the terminal.
Among the main attractions is the Castillo de Santa Bárbara, an impressive castle perched atop Mount Benacantil, offering panoramic views over the city and the Mediterranean Sea. The Explanada de España, the famous waterfront promenade with its palm trees and artistically designed mosaics, invites you to take a stroll and is a landmark of the city. The old town El Barrio with its narrow streets, colorful houses and tapas bars offers an insight into traditional Spanish life.
Right next to the port is Playa del Postiguet, a city beach with fine sand and clear water, ideal for a relaxing day by the sea. Alicante also serves as a starting point for excursions in the surrounding area, such as to Elche with its famous palm grove or to the island of Tabarca, which is known for its marine reserves.
The city also offers several museums, such as the MARQ Archaeological Museum, and a wide range of restaurants,
