Ammassalik
The port of Ammassalik, now known as Tasiilaq, is located on the east coast of Greenland on the island of Ammassalik. Tasiilaq is the largest town in East Greenland and serves as a major port of call for cruise ships wishing to explore the remote and impressive landscape of this region.
Cruise ships usually anchor off the coast, as the harbor is not deep enough even for larger ships. Passengers are taken by tender boats to the mooring point near the city center, which allows direct access to the sights. The city offers a variety of attractions, including the impressive Santa Maria Cathedral, the medieval city walls and the Torre di Porta Terra. The city is known for its Catalan-influenced culture, which is reflected in its architecture, language and cuisine.
In the surroundings of Alghero are the famous Neptune Caves, an impressive sea cave that can be reached by boat or via a staircase with 654 steps. The beaches of the Riviera del Corallo with their clear water and white sand also invite you to relax.
The port of Alghero combines historical charm with Mediterranean flair and offers cruise guests an unforgettable stay in Sardinia.
